Having an extensive nursing background in neuroscience and intensive care nursing, Lisa utilised her masters of education in the design and development of online courses and resources for epilepsy, mental health and medical cannabis. Lisa expanded  upon the research experience gained during two periods of secondment: to the East Timor Epilepsy Project and the George Institute for Global Health, with her most recent activity in the medical cannabis sector related to patient experiences and affordability  of prescribed cannabinoid based medicines.
