George Masri is the Assistant Secretary, Regulatory Services and Drug Control Branch in the Australian Government Department of Health. As part of the role George heads the Office of Drug Control as well as leads a range of TGA regulatory services responsibilities. George has extensive and varied experience in public administration, working across the government, community and private sectors. This includes as Senior Assistant Ombudsman and acting Deputy Ombudsman in the office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman, Senior Business Consultant for a local IT company, Ministerial Adviser in three portfolios and Principal Solicitor in two community legal centres. In 2015 George was awarded a National Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) Fellowship.
